pumpUPDATED: October 28, 2021

One U. City, in partnership with The School District of University City, invites District families to two combined events on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021: The annual Pumpkin Stroll and the very popular Trunk or Treat.

Families are invited to carve free pumpkins on Saturday, Oct. 30 from 2 to 4:30 p.m. outside the high school. Judging for an elementary school student pumpkin carving/decorating contest takes place at 4 p.m. Judging for a district staff pumpkin carving contest takes place at 4:30 p.m.

The pumpkins will then be lit with tealights and placed on display that evening around the high school's outdoor track for the second annual Pumpkin Stroll which runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Families may retrieve their pumpkins at the end of the event or on the morning of Sunday, Oct. 31.

Families are also invited to participate in the popular Trunk or Treat event, located just across the street from the Pumpkin Stroll at Jackson Park Elementary School. Volunteers will decorate their cars for the evening and offer up candy at the trunk of each car. That event also runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

  • Organizers are currently seeking volunteers to help with the events. Sign up here to volunteer.

  • Donations of bagged, individually wrapped candy are also needed to ensure organizers have plenty of treats to pack their trunks. Donations of unopened bags of individually-wrapped candy can be dropped off during business hours at the front desks of Barbara C. Jordan, Flynn Park, Jackson Park and Pershing Elementary Schools. Donated candy can also be left at the front desk of the McNair Administration Building, 7700 Olive Boulevard, on weekdays between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.
