Individual School Community Engagement Meetings Take Place February through April, 2023
In October 2022, attendees of district-wide community engagement meetings provided the district with feedback through gallery walks. The upcoming school-based meetings will give our parents, caregivers, staff, partners and the public opportunities to comment about individual schools in the District.
District leaders are seeking parent, caregiver, staff and community input during six in-person community engagement meetings hosted by individual schools starting in February. Meetings take place in the school unless otherwise noted.
Julia Goldstein Early Childhood Education Center, Feb. 27, 5:30 p.m.
Barbara C. Jordan Elementary School, March 28, 5:30 p.m.
Pershing Elementary School, March 28, 5:30 p.m.
Brittany Woods Middle & University City High Schools (joint meeting), April 12, 6 p.m., UCHS library
The meetings will include a presentation by school leaders and opportunities for attendees to provide feedback about the schools’ strategic plan and its connection to the District’s vision of Learning Reimagined. The process will help the district further refresh the District’s strategic plan while also enabling principals and district leaders to hear directly from the community about their experiences and hopes for their neighborhood schools. These meetings are different but complement districtwide engagement meetings that were held at University City High School this past October.
The meetings will take about 90 minutes, and parents and caregivers are encouraged to attend meetings at schools where their students attend classes. Please note that Brittany Woods Middle School and University High School will hold a joint meeting as part of their continued alignment with curriculum, academic rigor and community norms.
