Registration for School Board Elections Begins Dec. 15, 2020
Registration opens Dec. 15 for anyone seeking to join the school board for The School District of University City. Qualified candidates will be added to the ballot for the April 6, 2021 election.
To be eligible for the University City School Board of Education, candidates must be 24 years of age, a resident taxpayer of the school district, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the state for one year preceding the election of an appointment.
The board meets monthly but often has work sessions between those meetings. The seven-member board, which is elected at-large by the public to serve as the educational advocates of our community's youth, serves without monetary compensation.
The Board of Education is responsible for:
- Assuring school district performance.
- Hiring and evaluating the superintendent and delegate all administrative responsibilities.
- Adopting evaluation policies.
- Approving the school district's budget.
- Connecting with the community.
- Establishing goals and evaluating outcomes.

The School District of University City requires anyone entering our buildings to wear a proper face covering and practice social distancing. If you have COVID symptoms or are in quarantine, please wait to file when you are healthy.
Applications will be accepted during the district’s business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The District’s offices are closed December 21, 2020, through January 1, 2021, and January 18, 2021, and during inclement weather. Filing will end on January 19, 2021, at 5:00 p.m.
