Want to Help During COVID-19? The UCEF Summer Meal Appeal Is Now Taking Donations

More than 600 families in The School District of University City 
will need 13 weeks of meals due to financial hardship from COVID-19

UCEF Summer Meal Appeal 041520 130p The University City Education Foundation (UCEF) in partnership with The School District of University City is asking for community support to help its most vulnerable school families with supplemental food and household essentials through the summer months. The District plans to continue its ongoing Grab & Go Meal Program through the summer. The program provides district children with regular sack breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

However, most families need much more. The UCEF Summer Meal Appeal aims to raise funds to provide about 150 of the District's neediest families with weekly supplemental fresh produce, canned goods, snacks and essentials such as cleaning supplies, toiletries and other items. 

Every $50 donation to the University City Education Foundation will enable The School District of University City to tide a family over for one week with an essential care package.

“The School District of University City continues to be committed to head and heart work,” said Superintendent Sharonica Hardin-Bartley. “If our families aren’t well, we can't expect our community to be well. Basic needs such as food, are truly needed during this challenging time. We hope you can help us make this happen for families this summer.”
