University City Educators Honored For Outstanding Work

Dr. Hardin, Dr. Hinds, Ms. McBride

Superintendent of Schools Sharonica Hardin-Bartley, Ph.D., PHR (left) was recognized as a Cultivator Awardee at the eLation Magazine Honors Weekend Gala, Saturday, Nov. 17, for her leadership as an educator. “We have had the pleasure of watching her with staff and students,” said Michele Y. Wright, chair of the eLation Honors Gala Weekend. “She is passionate, innovative and stands strong in her field.” The eLation Magazine Gala honors servant leaders who have made significant contributions and positive impacts on the lives of others in the community.

Also on Saturday, Nov. 17, Dr. Tracy Hinds (center) and Jaquin McBride (right) were recognized along with 21 other educators as Apple for the Teacher honorees by the Alpha Zeta Chapter of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority. The sorority “seeks to focus on advancing the economic foundations of women through leadership, entrepreneurship, education and technology,” according to its website. Dr. Hinds is the English Language Arts and Social Studies Curriculum Coordinator in the District’s Curriculum and Instruction Department. Ms. McBride is a kindergarten teacher at Pershing Elementary and former University City Teacher of the Year.
