State of the District 2019
Today (Feb. 1, 2019), the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) released its final 2018 annual performance report (APR) for all school districts in the state. The School District of University City is pleased to announce that we remain fully accredited with 85.4% of APR points.
"While there is still significant work to be done," Superintendent Sharonica Hardin-Bartley says, "I am encouraged by our students and staff as we continue to proceed towards academic excellence in the classroom."
The APR report determines accreditation status for Missouri public schools. This information was delayed as a result of the new state tests that were administered to Missouri students last year. Please note that scores from tests taken last spring cannot be compared to those of tests taken in previous years due to the changes in the state student learning standards. Detailed information regarding all of the state changes are available in the DESE letter/report (click here for 2-page PDF) as well as a portal tutorial video.
Each year, the District hosts a State of the District. Superintendent Hardin-Bartley would like to personally invite our community to the meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 25, 2019, in the University City High School Pruitt Library Media Center, located at 7401 Balson Avenue (63130) - please use Jackson Ave. entrance. During this meeting, district administrators will share the results of the report and how it impacts students and the district as a whole. They will also highlight new strategic priorities and outline plans for the future.
"Once again, I would like to thank our students, parents, teachers and community stakeholders for their commitment, to the success of our school district," Superintendent Hardin-Bartley added. "And, I look forward to seeing you on Monday, Feb. 25th."
This event is free and open to the public. Childcare will be available during the meeting. Community members may wish to register for a reminder notification online at www.ucityschools.org/SOD022519 but this is not required.
