Updated: Graduation Ceremony Set for the Class of 2022

graduation 2019UPDATED: March 7, 2022 with rescinded health and safety protocols.

The School District of University City is pleased to announce that the graduation ceremony for the Class of 2022 will take place in-person on May 23, 2022 at 7 p.m. inside the Chaifetz Arena on the campus of Saint Louis University.

Chaifetz Arena has been the longtime venue for University City High School’s annual graduation ceremony. However, the onset of COVID-19 required the District to find alternative ways to celebrate the event in the past two years. In 2020, seniors graduated via a curbside car parade, and, in 2021, the ceremony was held outdoors inside the University City High School stadium.

The return to Chaifetz enables our students and families to host as many visitors as they like and also ensures that the ceremony will go on regardless of the weather. The ceremony will be live-streamed.

On March 7, 2022, Chaifetz rescinded most of its health and safety guidelines regarding COVID-19. Masking is no longer required by Chaifetz. However, the District highly recommends individuals wear masks during the ceremony. Additionally, individuals are no longer required to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19, nor must they provide documentation of a negative COVID-19 test.
