UCHS students learned to use Surface Pro tablets at Microsoft during a field trip to the St. Louis Galleria on Friday, January 12, 2018. UCHS Alumnae Arika Parr, Community Development Specialist for Microsoft, organized the field trip experience with UCHS visual arts teachers Todd Yancy and Marnie Claunch. Students created art inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King’s infamous “I Have a Dream” speech. Favorite pieces were selected and Microsoft hosted a reception for the students on Jan. 15. Guest artist Kevin Hopkins from IL presented his work and explained how MLK inspired him. UCHS students at the reception included Ashlynn Jenkins, Brandi Redmond, Shu’Rya Butler, Yael Portman and Destiny Moore.
