Ubuntu “I am because We are” Community Circle - Rescheduled
Join us at 6 p.m. on (NEW DATE) Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at UCHS Pruitt Library, located at 7401 Balson Ave. 63130 (Jackson Ave. entrance.) as community members delve into Humanize - one of the three pillars of The School District of University City’s Learning Reimagined initiative.
Educators and students are using the art of circles within the school day to successfully talk about and tackle pressing issues. Parents and other community members are invited to U. City's Community Circle: Ubuntu “I am because We are” to experience this Restorative Practice.
Ubuntu is a Nguni Bantu term meaning "humanity" or "humanity towards others," but is often used in a more philosophical sense to mean "the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity."
A Community Circle is a safe discussion space in which people sit in a circle so that all members' faces are visible to one another, without barriers between them, in order to share or discuss.
Four U. City resident share how ubuntu impacts their lives, followed by a community circle with all attendees engaged.
