"It was a great way to start the school year off!" declared Damon D. Major, Project RESTORE Coordinator for the Division of Health Promotion and Public Health Research at the Saint Louis County Department of Public Health.

Project RESTORE partnered with Brittany Woods Middle School for the Aug. 13, 2018, Back-to-School BBQ and Popsicles with Principals event. "We are looking forward to our partnership and building relationships with the Brittany Woods family," added Major.

Project Restore is a $1.2 million grant from St. Louis County and the Department of Health that U. City Schools will share for the purposes of implementing restorative practices to support trauma and mental health of students, teachers and families.

"This was a fantastic way to introduce our partnership with Project RESTORE," said Elliott Shostak, principal of Brittany Woods Middle School. "Thanks to our partners and staff that participated in making this event a tremendous success for more than 300 students and their families."
