Save the Date: District to host Growing Together, a Fun, Free Family Event on May 1.

Growing Together


The School District of University City invites all families and staff to Growing Together, an outdoor event on Saturday, May 1, 2021, to celebrate our school community’s strength and resilience in the past year.

The FREE event takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. out front and inside the Brittany Woods Middle School courtyard, 8125 Groby Road.

Participants can enjoy a variety of family fun activities that encourage wellness and joy amid such a tough year. Activities include:

  • DJ
  • Dunk Tank
  • Bubbles and chalk art
  • Balloon art
  • Free Trap Yoga sessions
  • Family Fitness Fun with Mr. Elliot Shostak
  • Quiet Yoga
  • COCA Crafts 
  • Make your own veggie planter with the UCity Schools Food Gardening Network (all supplies and seedlings provided)
  • And a jumbo-sized district Public Art Project to showcase our growth and strength during a global pandemic.

Parking will be available in the McNair Building Lot. The event runs in conjunction with the UCity Schools Food Garden Network seedlings and garden supply pickup. Masks are required.  The event is hosted by The School District of University City's Wellness Committee, Wyman, Office of Communications, Brittany Woods Middle School, The UCity Schools Food Garden Network and One U City.
