It's Never Too Early to Think about Summer: Join Us for Summer Showcase
It’s cold outside, which makes it a great time to think about valuable summer activities for your children and teens.
The School District of University City will hold its annual U. City Summer Showcase on Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020, at University City High School, 7401 Balson Ave. Running from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Showcase is an efficient way to learn about a wide array of summer opportunities for all U. City students, from preschool to high school. The event is free and open to the public.
Last year the Showcase featured more than 30 different booths highlighting summer camps, enrichment programs, student internships and paid full- and part-time employment opportunities. For high school students, these included early training in various trades, jobs at Six Flags Over Mid-America and college prep programs at both the University of Missouri-St. Louis and Mizzou.
The District is also currently seeking community partners, not-for-profit agencies, local businesses, camps, and summer programs to host booths for this year’s event. For more information, contact organizer Kimberly Merrill at firstname.lastname@example.org. To register for a booth, go to www.ucityschools.org/SummerShowcaseBoothRegistration.
“We hope that our partners and local agencies will accept our invitation as we work to support the U. City community while empowering our students, families and community,” Merrill said.
