School Handbooks

The Brittany Woods Student/Parent Handbook outlines expectations for students regarding attendance, academics, social interactions, school policies, etc., and includes a copy of the school’s annual calendar. The handbook is distributed to all students during the first week of school and is available online for parent/student reference.

Please take the time to carefully review the following policies and procedures. Many parents ask how they can help their children be more successful in school. Your support is vital and understanding these routines and procedures will help your child achieve academically and socially.

The School District of University City practices the instructional core model, which includes three key areas: essential learning, formative assessment and student engagement. It means that all courses identify what students need to know most, assess students informally and formally throughout the learning process and tailor lessons to engage students at all levels. The model also relies on instructional leadership, and building leaders and all teachers regularly meet for professional development and growth as part of their Professional Learning Communities.

At Brittany Woods, we believe all students will learn. Our goal is to prepare every student for success in high school and beyond by providing a curriculum that includes necessary core academic work but also exposes students to a broad range of electives.

If you have any questions about any of our procedures, please contact the school office at (314) 290-4280 for clarification.
