Principal's Welcome

Dear Barbara C. Jordan Elementary School Community:

It is my pleasure to welcome returning students and families as well as those new to Barbara C. Jordan Elementary!

I’m writing this as we end the school year 2023-24 which has been a whirlwind of fun and excitement including the unveiling of our new Believe Library filled with books that relate to all students and experiences. But, there are even more great things in store as we prepare to welcome students and families next school year.

At Barbara C. Jordan, our team of devoted educators and staff, are committed to creating an inviting and resource enriched learning atmosphere where all children can flourish.

Principal Adams

Our educational approach has been thoughtfully crafted to be stimulating and engaging, with high expectations that help to ensure that each child's talents and capabilities are recognized and nurtured.

We are an active school!  Over the course of the school year, we have a stellar lineup of events and activities planned not only for students, but also for families and community. Your active involvement is invaluable to us, as parents and caregivers play pivotal roles in student success and add to our dynamic and inclusive school experience.

That experience will be significantly enhanced by work done through Proposition U; a $65 million bond issue that will yield upgrades and renovations for all District schools and facilities!  The overwhelming passage of this measure in April 2024, is an indication that you are a part of an amazing University City Community.

Finally, I want to personally thank you for entrusting us with your childrens’ education, well-being and joy! In school year 24-25, our curriculum and extracurricular programs will give them everything they need to soar.

Go Eagles!

Sincerely,

Dorlita A. Adams
