Information Technology Department Overview

  • The Information Technology (IT) department oversees all technology for staff and students in the District, including computer labs, e-mail, servers, internet filtering and professional development related to technology.  

    MISSION: To provide a student-centered contemporary learning environment that offers cutting edge technology, professional development, and support that leads to academic achievement and excellence, so all students can compete in a global environment.

    VISION: To have a technology-infused culture where stakeholders' technology proficiency provides a competitive advantage to being productive citizens.

    Technology in the The School District of University City enhances the educational opportunities and academic achievement of students by connecting them to critical resources and to internal and external learning communities. Technology is also a necessary form of communication and connection among teachers, staff, students, parents, caregivers. 

    All District students receive learning devices such as laptops and tablets. The District has a 1:1 laptop/device ratio for students. By accepting and utilizing District computers and other technology, all District students, staff, parents, caregivers and other stakeholders agree to adhere to District policies regarding acceptable uses and behaviors. It is the responsibility of the entire School District of University City community to educate one another and practice appropriate, safe and productive technology behavior that includes appropriate interactions with others on email and social networking sites, in chat rooms, on forums, and during online lessons and forums. Cyberbullying is never tolerated.
