Principal's Welcome Letter to Sixth Grade Families

  • Dear Brittany Woods Families,

Your child has reached an important milestone. In August, your child will begin middle school at Brittany Woods Middle School. It is an exciting experience, and it should be an enjoyable one. We are committed to academic excellence for all students and strive to be a place Where Everyone Belongs. We believe students should have a positive school experience and because of our belief, we have humanized and personalized learning.

Academic offerings include core subject areas with regular and advanced courses, as well as electives for music, foreign language, art, and industrial technology. Additionally, students will engage in authentic and project-based learning throughout the year.

Not only do students learn in the classroom, but also through extracurricular activities. We are proud to offer many opportunities for our students to channel their energy into areas, which interest them. Computer Gaming Design, Book Battle, Equations and Ceramics are just a few of the after-school clubs students may elect to join. We also have a strong athletic program for experienced athletes or a beginning athlete wanting to be part of a team.

Parents and guardians are an integral part of the Brittany Woods community. We invite you to become an active participant in our school community through volunteering, joining our PTO or attending and supporting school events. Research clearly supports that when parents/guardians participate and are involved in their child’s education, there is a greater likelihood of academic success for their child.

Communication is important to a successful school experience. We will continue to improve the quality of our school community and provide the best for the children at Brittany Woods Middle School. We value a strong partnership between the school, students, parents/guardian, and community. Children are more successful when we work as a team to achieve our goal.

    Sincerely,
    Elliott Shostak, Principal
