St. Louis Internship Program - 9th Graders are invited to apply for the St. Louis Internship Program, Pre-Internship Component, a challenging five-week development program that offers skills training that will help expand personal development, post-secondary and career opportunities. SHMR invites applications for the position of summer intern. Depending upon previous experience, skills, and interests, the intern will have the opportunity to contribute to SHMR in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to: historical research on the lived experiences of the enslaved people whom the Jesuits owned; genealogical research to identify descendants of people enslaved to the Jesuits; and social media communications. Candidates who have language skills in Latin, French, Spanish, German, and Dutch or Flemish may assist with translating foreign language documents.
The SHMR Project summer intern will work 20 hours per week for 12 weeks, from May 24 to August 13, 2021 (start and end dates negotiable based on intern’s schedule). The position pays $13 per hour and reports to the SHMR Research Coordinator.
