School Announcements

  • Senior Important Information 

    * Attention U City students wishing to run for Senior Class Prom King & Queen and Junior class Prom Prince and Princess. Nomination forms can be found in front of room #328 Mr. Amerson's class.  Please read the forms completely to determine if you qualify to be a candidate.  Forms must be completed by Friday April 13th and returned to Mr. Amerson.  All information will be verified.  Prom is April 28th!  

    Caps and Gowns   Can be purchased via Herff Jones packet (provided to all seniors) or online at www.highschool.herffjones.com.                           

    Senior Gear   Can be ordered/purchased from the UServe Office, room 123 and the business Office.

  • Announcements 4/23-30

    Club Events:

    * U-Lead meets every Wednesday. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Parks at natalieparks02@gmail.com.

    * Are you interesting in uplifting women? Well come out to the women empowerment meeting 2:35-4pm on a Wednesday, in Ms. Goodbrake’s classroom, 324. All discussions and activities will focus on self-love. Small refreshments will be provided. If you have further questions, speak to Ms. Goodbrake or Whitney Huling (Hugh-ling). WE@UCHS meets every 2 weeks.

    *Birthdays Shout outs through the announcements or social media will be $1. See Ms. McNeal or Mr. Amerson during A and B lunches.

    *The Yoga Club meets every Tuesday, in the dance studio.

    *Board game club meets Thursdays in room 114 after school.

    *STUCO store will be open during A and B lunches.  

    * GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance) will be meeting Thursdays at 2:30pm in the guidance office.  If you are interested in learning more about GSA please join our meetings on Thursdays or see Mrs. Woodward in the guidance office.  

    *​If you are interested in acting or working on a short film please come to the​ ​Broadcasting club Thursdays after school or see Mr. Stuart room 348. 

     *Anime meets in room 348 every Wednesday

    *Step team meets Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in room the indoor track. For more information see Mr. Parrish in room 111 or Ms. Berin in room 115. 

    *TREND meets in the Library after school. For dates check with Ms. Reed.

    Seniors and Juniors:

    *Senior Final Exams will be Tuesday, 5/1; Wednesday, 5/2; and Friday, 5/4. May 4th is seniors last day and we will follow a C day assembly schedule.  Senior Activities will be May 7th, 8th and 9th. A senior assembly will be held at the end of the day on May 9th.

    *Last day to purchase prom tickets will be Thursday, 4/26.  Tickets can be purchased from Ms. Pritchard, Ms. Creighton or Ms. Coby.  This week tickets cost $80 single/ $150 couple.

    *If you did not get to take senior photos and would like to sign up for a sitting, please see Ms. Pritchard in room 123 to sign up.

    *Volunteers are needed to participate in the UCHS/U City Senior City Idea Exchange summer program.  This will be an opportunity for UCHS students to get to know, work with and learn from University City seniors.

    *Do not miss your chance to order a senior shout for the senior issue of the U-Times. The cost is $10 and includes a picture and a message. See Ms. Williams in room L306.

    *Herff Jones rep will return after the break with additional orders and again in April for cap and gown distribution. Please see Ms. Pritchard if you have any additional questions or concerns.

    *Attention all U-City Artists! The guidance Office needs your help with the artwork for our THIRD ANNUAL ACCEPTANCE LETTER BILLBOARD! This year’s theme is… The Sky’s The Limit! Please see Ms. Hogan for more details.

    * Juniors and Seniors - Prom is April 28, 2018.  In order to attend prom you must have 90% or better attendance.  Students will not be allowed to attend prom if they miss school on April 27 – NO EXCEPTIONS. If you have any questions, please Ms. Woodward in the Guidance office.

    * All seniors, we are looking for your baby / toddler pics. Your pics will be displayed and other student will guess who it is. Please bring a paper copy to Mr. Amerson.

    Guidance Office:

    *Going into the medical field? HOSA is for you…Health Occupation Students of America is having a meeting on Tuesday, April 24th in room 102 after school to discuss how HOSA is going to look at UCHS next year. See Mr. Wright in room 102 for more information.

    * If you are working on college applications, scholarship finding or raising your ACT score, come to the College Jam Sessions on Wednesdays after school in the Guidance Office. Please see Ms. Hogan or Ms.Gibson for details.

    Student Volunteer Opportunities:

    *Volunteers are needed to participate in the UCHS/U City Senior City Idea Exchange summer program. This will be an opportunity for UCHS students to get to know, work with and learn from University City seniors.

    *Volunteers are needed to help set up and decorate for the 2018 grad party, May 14 at Richmond Heights Family Center. For more information and to sign up, see Ms. Pritchard in room 123.

    *Seniors, there are still some senior gear items left to purchase your tenure at UCHS is done! Select sizes of T-shirts, sweat pants and caps are available in the UServe office, room 123. See Ms. Pritchard for sizes and pricing.

    School Upcoming Events:

    *We will be holding a field day on Monday, 5/4 during 7th period for all students with at least 90% attendance without class cuts. During this hour you will get a treat from Kona Ice and play games on the field or just hang out. Students have until May 4th to bring their attendance up to 90% to participate. If your attendance is below 90% you still have to improve it. Please see Ms. Woodward or Ms. Burstein if you have questions about your attendance.

    *Attention all students! If you bought your yearbook, we will be distributing then on Monday, April 23 after school in room L306 till 2:40 pm. We will not distribute them before that time. If you have not bought your yearbook, hurry to get yours for $45 before they sold out. See Ms. Williams for details in room L306.

    Athletics Events:

    *Any football player that wants to go to Mizzou this Saturday, needs to have their permission slips turned in to Coach Wells by Thursday.

    School Assemblies:  

    *Next Friday, we will follow a U day Assembly Schedule. There will be a 7 on 7 battle of the classes event held on Friday, April 27th, starting at 1:20 pm. Bring your money for concessions and come support your class as they battle it out on the football field. This event is hosted by the class of 2020 sophomores Darion Reed and Lawrence Coleman.

    PBIS  * The school store has changed to Wednesday. Don't forget to bring your Pride Bucks to lunch every Wednesday to spend them at the school store.

    Grace Deitzler, UCHS C/O 2013, is profiled in Missouri S&T Magazine for her research in women's health. She is a research scientist in the Washington University in St. Louis Lewis Lab of Microbial Glycobiology and Women’s Health. Deitzler wants to be a Ph.D. scientist and physician unlocking the secrets to treating infectious diseases. Click on the headline to read more.
