Differentiated Instruction
High Priority Professional Development
by Declan Fitzpatrick
Differentiated Instruction (DI) has been selected as an on-going focus for professional development in University City School District. Because DI is an idea that has been around for a long time, U-City teachers will have varying levels of background information and expertise. As a way of beginning some informed conversations and moving toward a shared understanding, we are posting here links to articles and PowerPoint presentations that will provide an introduction to the key concepts of DI.
This Differentiated
Instruction PowerPoint was presented to K-5 teachers at
the Oct. 17th PD day. Once you have opened the file, you can
right click, choose "edit slides" and "notes page" from the view
menu, to see more information.
These articles were distributed to teachers by their building PDC reps:
"Making a Difference," Teacher Sourcebook / Fall 2008
"Differentiated Instruction," Tracey Hall, NCAC
"Differentiated Instruction in the Elementary Grades." ERIC Digest, Carol Ann Tomlinson
