City of University City
University City was founded in 1902 by Edward Gardner Lewis, with the purchase of an 85-acre tract. Today, the city is six square miles and hosts nearly 40,000 residents.
University City is a city of parks and civic pride. It has 17 parks with approximately 255 acres and numerous play areas, ball, soccer, football fields, and tennis courts.
Exceptional recreation facilities from its municipal golf course to an outdoor swimming pool to the fitness center to indoor soccer facilities are just a few of the community’s amenities. Along with being a Tree City USA, University City is also known as the “flower city” of the area.
