Meet the Principal
Background: I came to the School District of University City in July 2008 after having served the St. Louis Public Schools for 15 years in various capacities. The positions held included: teacher, personnel specialist, instructional coordinator and principal.
Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Harris-Stowe State College, Master of Arts Degree in Educational Leadership from St. Louis University and Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Administration from The University of Missouri St. Louis.
Honors and Awards: Board of Regents Scholarship, Bertha Black Rhoda Scholarship, Teacher’s Union Local 420 Scholarship, Leslie Scholarship, Harris-Stowe State College Vice President’s List, Alpha Chi (National Honor Society), Kappa Delta Pi (Educational Honor Society), Governor’s Special Student Recognition Award, E. Philosophy: I have a passion and commitment to education. I believe that a quality education truly requires individual parts working together to create and support academic success for students. In other words, it takes a whole village to educate a child and that there are opportunities for everyone to share in the joy.
“Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it.” -Marian Wright Edelman
