UCHS welcomes new administrative team for 2012-13

June 29, 2012

University City High School’s administrative team for the 2012-13 school year will include some new faces and some familiar faces. Michael Maclin is the new principal of UCHS, as previously reported in the March issue of Pride.

Other new faces at UCHS are assistant principals Malcolm Hill and Susan Hill, not related. Returning faces in administrative roles are Earnest Carter, assistant principal, and Patrick Oligschlaeger, director of athletics. Malcolm Hill’s experience includes positions as athletic director at Maplewood-Richmond Heights and some assistant principal duties at Normandy High School. While working as a social studies teacher for the past eight years in the Lindbergh School District, Susan Hill also served as professional development chairperson, administrative liaison and held other leadership positions. Carter has been with the District for 11 years; this includes two years as a Summer Learning Academy principal. Since 2006, he has served UCHS as a disciplinarian and in-school suspension supervisor. Last year, he was the interim assistant principal for freshmen. While a physical education teacher at Flynn Park Elementary School for 19 years, Oligschlaeger also coached UCHS varsity wrestling for 14 years and was an assistant coach for all levels of UCHS football for eight years. He served as interim athletic director last year.

“I am excited about the possibilities for our students with the new administrative team at the high school,” said Joylynn Pruitt, superintendent of schools. “We have hired administrators with strong educational backgrounds and work experience, and I look forward to seeing what Mr. Maclin has developed for our high school students.”

UCHS offices remain open throughout the summer, so new high school students can enroll at their convenience. Call 314-290-4115 to schedule an appointment.
