Through a variety of units and activities we will:

Develop Creative Thinking skills - fluency, flexibility, originality and elaboration

Develop Problem-solving skills - rules, creative problem-solving, deductive reasoning, classification, visual/spatial, syllogism/logic, analogies and conflict resolution

Develop Independent Research skills - advanced library skills, reference sources, data recording, interviewing, surveying, synthesizing data, statistical analysis, and research process – methodology and product development.

Develop Communication skills - writing/editing, media expression, oral presentation

Develop the Affective Process - Students will cultivate effective interpersonal, intrapersonal and leadership skills.

Develop Personal Development skills - Students will develop intrapersonal skills through self-evaluation, metacognition, effective time management and identification and development of individual multiple intelligences.

Equations 

 Students will apply math skills of problem solving, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to create as many equations as possible.  They will then participate in GRC’s Academic Challenge Cup.  Academic Challenge Cup is a friendly academic competition where players compete against people from other teams in several rounds. The five team members' scores are tallied collectively to determine team winners.
