University City Board of Education Seeks Interim Member for 2010-2011

The school district of University City is seeking candidates to be appointed to fulfill the term of a school board member for the period of July 16 until April 5. Candidates must be United States citizens and resident taxpayers of the District with no taxes in arrears, reside in his/her state for one year next preceding their election or appointment, and be at least twenty-four (24) years of age.   

Residents wishing to be appointed to the vacancy shall make their desire known by sending a letter stating their qualifications and their reason(s) for wishing to be on the Board. Candidate(s) should contact board Administrative Coordinator Charlotte Tatum at 290-4003 and send written request to: Board Member, School District of University City, 8136 Groby Road, University City, MO  63130. Filing period for this position ends on June 18 at 5 p.m.

Candidates that submit their information prior to closing and show proof of residency (valid U. City occupancy permit) will be contacted after closing for a possible interview. Interviews will be conducted on July 1, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. Final voting by the school board will occur in open session on July 10. The school board nominated appointee will be sworn in on July 15.
