NEW PRINCIPAL TO HEAD BRITTANY WOODS MIDDLE
ST. LOUIS, June 5, 2009 – The School District of University City Board of Education has hired Jamie Jordan, Ed.D to serve as the new principal of Brittany Woods Middle School.
Jordan is currently an assistant principal at Crestview Middle School in the Rockwood School District. She began her educational career at Lindbergh High School in 1998 as a social studies teacher and later advanced to serve as the school’s Social Science Department Chairperson. Jordan is also a National Board Certified Teacher.
She has participated in and led a number of educational initiatives aimed at boosting academic achievement and increasing student performance on the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) test.
“We believe Dr. Jordan will be a positive influence for the students and staff at Brittany Woods,” said Joylynn Wilson, superintendent of schools. “Her experienced leadership on determining best practices will be an asset as we embark on new academic reforms at Brittany Woods next school year.”
Jordan earned both her Bachelors degree in middle school education and her Masters degree in educational administration from the University of Missouri, Columbia. She earned her doctorate degree in educational leadership from St. Louis University.
She is a member of several community and educational groups including the National Association of Secondary School Principals, Missouri Middle School Association, West County Optimist Service Organization and the Leukemia Lymphoma Team in Training.
Jordan will begin working as the principal at Brittany Woods on July 1.
