University City Music Teacher to be Honored by Yale University
Stanley Coleman, instrumental music teacher and the jazz band director at both Brittany Woods Middle School and University City High School will receive the Yale Distinguished Music Educator Award this summer.
Coleman is among 50 honorees selected from 448 award nominees from across 46 states. He was nominated for the award by School District of University City Superintendent Joylynn L. Wilson.
Coleman will receive the award when he travels to the Yale University campus June 10-11 to attend the 2009 Symposium on Music in Schools.
