Half-Time Music Facilitator (2nd Posting)

The School District of University City seeks an outstanding educational leader with a strong background in instrumental and vocal music education to join our District family.  The successful candidate will be part of a high-energy team comprised of instructional leaders dedicated to continuous educational improvement for each student.

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in instrumental music education; certification and experience as a school administrator preferred.  The ideal candidate will have demonstrated outstanding achievement as a music teacher in a diverse educational environment for at least three years.  This individual will be able to build relationships with fellow administrators and teachers and work with them to implement a systemic Pre-K through 12 music education program.  Professional development, curriculum development and vocal music programming experiences are a plus.  The Instrumental Music Facilitator will have a clear passion for the work of educating children.  Experience and success in implementing strategies to reduce the achievement gap are critical.

The School District of University City offers a competitive salary in the range of $25,000-$30,000 (for half-time status), commensurate with experience.  This is a 12-month position, with an approximate start date of August 9, 2010.
