Early Childhood Special Eduation Teacher

Julia Goldstein Early Childhood Center

The School District of University City is seeking a highly qualified educator dedicated to improving academic performance for Pre-K students in the following discipline:

 Early Childhood Special Education - Julia Goldstein Early Childhood Center

Qualifications: The candidate recommended for this position will be expected to collaborate with other professionals, be flexible and have strong content knowledge as well as expertise in working with special needs Pre-K students.  Experience with IDEA compliance in an early childhood urban environment is preferred.  All candidates must have current Missouri certification and knowledgeable in implementing best practices for special education students.

Application Process: Internal candidates wishing to apply for this position should submit a letter of interest, updated resume and copy of MO Certification to the Human Resources Department.   External candidates wishing to apply should submit a cover letter, resume, three letters of reference, copies of MO teaching certification and transcripts to the address listed below.  External applicants will also need to complete a REAP application at www.moreap.net.  Applications will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. Friday, September 17, 2010.

The School District of University City offers a competitive salary, (with credit for up to ten years of experience on the teacher salary schedule), an attractive benefits package, including graduate tuition reimbursement and a myriad of professional development opportunities.  An FBI Fingerprint/Background Check will be required of all external candidates who are hired.
