The School District of University City invites the community to attend the annual Honorees & Retirees Reception scheduled for Thursday, May 20, at 7 p.m. in the multipurpose room at the Julia Goldstein Early Childhood Education Center, located at 737 Kingsland Avenue (63130).
We will be paying special tribute to our 2010 Distinguished Retirees: Shirley Allen (SSD), Corinthia Bishop, Jeannette Dampier, Janet Davis, Claudette Franklin, Kathryn Glenn, Karen Karty, Judy Lazarus, Effie Moore, Gwendoyle Nelson, Wallace Patterson, Julius Sims, Angela Strode, Leroy Tisdale, Deborah Wells, Richard Wilson and Margot Zambrana.
We will also be recognizing our 2010 PACEsetters: Jaanna Anaemereibe, Diane Davenport, Alexander Jamerison, Kim Jones and Jennifer Tilling; along with the Superintendent's 2010 Uniquely University City awardees: Hazel Erby, Julie Feier, Todd Gilyard, LaShawn Minor, Deborah Morley, Betty Thompson and Margaret Williams.
Formal recognition will be given to our 2010-2011 Teacher of the Year, Sandra Feemster, as well as appreciation expressed to our 2009-2010 Teacher of the Year, Lillian Summers; along with our 2010-2011 Educational Support Personnel of the Year, Patricia Chandler, and our 2009-2010 Educational Support Personnel of the Year, Tony Curtis.
