Tremendous Talent Takes the Stage

University City High School held its first annual talent show competition in the fall of 2008. Sponsored by the class of 2010, the talent show turned out to be a success. Though the actual audiences turn out was slightly less than expected, the crowd quickly made up for it by their enthusiasm and energetic participation.
Students from all grades came together for a three-day screening process that allowed them to bring their talents to the stage. Judges and class officers worked together to make the final decisions of who made ‘the cut’ and then the hard work for the show began.
Students didn't have much time to go over their routines before the day of the event. All of the talent acts and special guest performers (i.e. the Kandy Gurlz and UCHS Steppers) worked an extensive amount of time to perfect the show with their lively entertainment and smooth transitions.
The acts that placed were Lawrence Young in first, Julian Washington in second, and Stevie Kirkman in third. However, all of the talent showcased was remarkably good.
University City high school has brought back a great tradition that will hopefully live on for many years to come. See you next year for the second annual talent show!
