Fundraising for Students... Not Trivial! on October 25

Test your knowledge about University City, as well as nine other subject areas, during the first Biennial Trivia Night on Saturday, October 25 at the Heman Park Community Center, located at 975 Pennsylvania Avenue (63130). The event is presented by the University City High School Alumni Association (UCHS AA) and the University City Education Foundation (UCEF), with proceeds to benefit students, programs, services and facilities within the School District of University City. Superintendent of School Joylynn Wilson has been invited to be the mistress of ceremonies and various local dignitaries will be serving as judges.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. to allow attendees to visit and bid upon
unique silent auction items. “School Spirit” is the theme for a
table decoration competition. The trivia contest will begin
promptly at 7 p.m. with ten rounds of ten questions each, covering
a diversity of topics. Cash prizes will be awarded to first, second
and third-place table teams. To enhance the odds of winning,
mulligans will be available for purchase and everyone will have the
opportunity to participate in a 50/50 raffle drawing. Snacks and
soft drinks will be available. Players are welcome to bring in
their own food and beverages to enjoy at their table before and
during the contest.
Registration
is $15 per person or $120 for a table of eight by 12 p.m. (noon) on
Thursday, October 23. To be accepted, paid reservations MUST be
submitted to the UCEF mailbox at 8136 Groby Road by that time.
Seating is limited. Advance team registrations are encouraged, but
individuals are welcome and will be assigned to open tables upon
arrival. If available, at-door admission will be $20 per
person.
Event support is being sought. Levels include Valedictorian ($5,000),
Salutatorian ($2,500),
Suma Cum Laude
($1,000), Cum Laude Table Sponsor
($500), Honor Roll Round Sponsor
($250) as well as donations of goods or services for
the silent auction. Contributions are tax deductible and
will be acknowledged at the event as well as in print and
electronic publicity.
