Destination UCity Schools
Schedule Revised

The current schedule for the School District of University City’s community engagement program known as “Destination UCity Schools,” has been revised.
The next set of meetings, which will feature a discussion on the current state and future needs of the district’s building facilities, will be held on Saturday, October 11 and Tuesday, October 14.
Originally the meetings were scheduled for October 7 and 11. Also the topic, which would have focused on Family and Community Involvement, has been changed. The new dates for the October meetings will be Saturday, October 11 from 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m at the Julia Goldstein Early Education Center (EEC), 727 Kingsland and Tuesday, October 14 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Pershing Elementary School, 6761 Bartmer Ave. The changes were made to allow the administration to better prepare for our presentation on District Facilities. Light snacks and childcare is available.
A separate session on Family and Community Involvement will be held early next year..
The remaining community engagement meetings will take place on the following dates:
- Wednesday, November 5, Pershing Elementary School, 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.
Saturday, November 8, Julia Goldstein EEC, 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
Topic for both sessions – Finance and Refining the Plan
- Tuesday, November 18, Barbara Jordan Elementary School, 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.
Saturday, November 22, Julia Goldstein EEC, 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
Topic for both sessions – Finalizing the Plan and Recommendations
- Thursday, December 4, Board of Education Meeting, 7 p.m. McNair Admin. Bldg.
Topic – Presentation of Final Recommendation to the Board of Education
Since July, several hundred University City parents, residents and other stakeholders have attended the Destination UCity Schools meetings which are aimed at soliciting community input that will help determine the district’s future.
