District Announces Administrative Changes

by Daphne Dorsey

April 07, 2008

Recently, the School District of University City Board of Education approved the hiring and promotion of several administrators.

Karl Scheidt began work in March as the district’s new operations director. He formerly worked for the St. Louis Family Court as manager of facility services.  Scheidt replaces Charles Nicastro in the position.  Nicastro retired last year as the assistant superintendent of operations but was continuing to work with the district as a consultant.

The following personnel changes take effect July 1:

  • Chauna Williams, current principal of Delmar-Harvard Elementary School, has been named assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction.  The position was previously held by Joylynn Wilson, prior to her appointment as superintendent of schools several months ago.
  • Rebecca Forgash, currently the communication arts and social studies coordinator will be the director of instruction and
  • Nikki Davenport, the district’s math and science facilitator has been named a coordinator in the position.  Davenport formerly worked as a fourth grade teacher at the district’s Jackson Park Elementary School.

More administrative appointments will be announced within the next several weeks.
