Program Advisory Board
November 05, 2007
Hello Friend,
The Adult Education and Literacy Advisory Board of University City is an independent Board compromised of individuals who are genuinely interested in the continued success of Adult Education. The Adult Education and Literacy Advisory Board of University City is composed of individuals who are Adult Education Program employees or volunteers; with agencies such as welfare, workforces development, or healthcare; and/or are affiliated organizations such as law enforcement, church groups or community based.
The University City Adult Education and Literacy Program plays an important role in helping returning high school students completing their education, new Americans adjusting to the language and culture of their new homeland, and opening doors to expand opportunities for new readers. Our program includes opportunities for students to develop and strengthen speaking, reading and writing skills as well as, important life skills, higher education and career development. Additionally, our school has implemented a technology center which allows students to prepare for the GED Exam and TOEFL Preparation Test. Your involvement will be an asset in furthering our mission of academic excellence. Your individual expertise, skills and talents will be critical to the success of this Advisory Board, currently in its second year.
Our hope is that you will assist us in continuing to further our program’s excellence. Your commitment will include approximately four meetings during the school year. You will be notified at a later time of the exact dates.
Sincerely,
Adult Education and Literacy Advisory Board University City
